I started baking a few seasons into watching The Great British Bake Off, and -- like many people in 2020 -- I went bread-crazy in lockdown. I made two loaves a week with my mother hovering over my shoulder eager to get the first warm slice. My specialty is a filled, braided loaf of Chinese red bean milk bread. Heaven. Just between you and me, I always let my dough raise for too long because I like a dense loaf. Sorry, Paul Hollywood.
Anyway! Here's some art that is probably more reminiscent of petrified wood than a warm, dense loaf, but this is where my mind has brought us. 8x10 ring pour fluid painting in shades of orange and black with hand-painted gold details on unframed stretched canvas. This painting has been sealed with a clear gloss.
